Default Rotated my tires..hmmmm

Just rotated my tires (Goodyear duratracs 315/75/16) when i took jeep for a drive I noticed a slight hum /road noise. Last rotation was probably 10k miles ago. I assume there's a little noise since treads are now going in different direction? The GYDTs are pretty quiet tires..maybe I was LOOKING for noise? And a side note--you torque me to 95 ft lbs..right

And a side note.

Totally typical for a lil noise on new rotation.

My Duratracs have picked up a little extra hum as they've gotten some wear on them. Still not very loud though. I'm about 23,000 miles into them now.

Tire hum after a rotation is pretty typical. Depending on how you had them rotated, you have various tread lugs on each tire that do not have the same contact patch on the ground as they did prior to the rotation. Give it a few hundred or even a 1,000 miles and the tread will wear evenly and the road noise should reduce!

X3 that's the recommended torque. I have heard that they are put on at 110 at the factory. You need to be careful no to over torque aluminum wheels or you can damage them.

Smart

SIDE NOTE
G Rearward cross (on right) is the preferred method, but if you have something that's working for you just stick with it. Figured I would post it hear for people who find the thread with a search.
