Default Rotor Clips?

I saw a post on here about Stock JK lugs rounding out the inside of soft 8's. So i checked mine and im not having any issues. But what i am wondering is do those retaining clips that hold the rotors on stop the tire from mounting flat. I don't think they should they are so small it wouldn't seem to matter but i thought id ask in case i was doing something stupid and didn't know it.

Absolutely they matter. They need to be removed with aftermarket rims. Stock rims have recesses for these "so small" clips.

Discount Tire pulled mine off when installing my new tires and wheels. I asked him why and he said tehy can damage the wheels and are only on there to keep the rotor from falling off the axle during the assembly process.

In other words, take the little f'ers off, they serve you no purpose. I was drunk and hungry when mine came off, so I ate them.

Hmm, this is the first I've read of that. Guess I'll have to take them off next time I'm rotating.

Had a slight shimmy a while back that I couldn't figure out....removed the clips and shimmy disappeared!
