Default rotten rear bumpstops

I have a 2008 stock 2 door rubicon with a set of compromised rear bump stops. One of them is actually partially missing. I am not sure what caused this but I assume some hard wheeling on stock parts. I read about this happening to a TJ. I am installing the 2.5 inch Teraflex coil lift kit with shocks later this week which includes the bumpstop kits. I am assuming that the rear bumpstops included sit right below the stock bump stops, which would mean that I need to replace the stock OEM's for the kit to work. Am I right in thinking this? I would love to be wrong and not have to replace them.
