Default Is the Rough Country 3.25 lift all I need?

I just purchased a Rough Country 3.25 lift and have not installed it. After reviewing the jk forum I am wondering if I need to add a new track bar and different control arms. The manufacture indicated the kit alone would suffice but the forum seems to indicate more items are needed.

This jeep is used strictly on the street. Will the 3.25 kit alone be satisfactory.

Thanks for the info.

I am running the 3.25 lift and have not added anything else yet. It runs fine. I just got some 34 incch tires so I am contemplating getting bump stop extensions. I used the brake line brackets that came with it and the rear track bar bracket. Seems sturdy to me and attaches to the frame side so should not be a problem.

If you are going to run 35" tires, the answer is "NO". I just did this and there is not enough clearance between the body and the rear tires. I had to take off my Rubicon Rockers and trim about 2" off of them and then trim the pinch weld on the body.

If you are running smaller tires I would guess it would be ok.

I have not done anything else to the lift and it seems to run just fine.

I have the same lift, the only thing I added was JKS discos. Flexes good enough for me. Still running stock Rubi wheels and tires but mine looks as though it will clear 35's with no problem. I will find out this winter when I buy new tires.

Most 35's do not measure 35". I run 35's with that lift, they measure 33.9" and I havent trimmed the pinch seem. I will be trimming it for 37's though. I think the lift is a good price and works well. It flexes well, rides well and doesn't bump steer. The shocks are decent also, especially for the price. Better than the factory rubicon shocks.

I just installed this lift on Sunday. I have not added anything to the lift yet. I was surprised and happy that the extended read swaybar links cleared the stock Rubicon wheels and tires since I have heard people have had problems with extended links on the stock backspaced tires. I was planning on moving the links to the inside of the swaybar, but I did not need to do this and instead left them in the stock location. It looked like there was a chance that the rear swaybar links might hit the frame or brake line at full stuff if they were installed on the inside of the swaybar. So I just decided to play it safe for now.

I am still waiting to see how everything settles down with the kit. So far, I have not noticed any difference driving the Jeep compared to how it was stock. The new kit does appear to be a "little" bit stiffer than the stock Rubicon suspension, but I don't notice it unless I am looking for it.

I will be getting new tires this weekend. I am looking to try and clear 37x13.50 Toyo's with this kit. It looks like the kit will clear 35s without any issue (though I'm not sure about the pinch seem). I am planning to trim my fenders as needed and shorten the Rubi sliders and some of the pinch seem. It also looks like I will need at least some 2.5" bump stops for the rear from what others have said.

Other than some test fittings, I am going to wait on installing the tires until after a long trip to Big Bend on Memorial Day. I don't want to have to mess with getting all my clearance issue solved before the trip.

This is what the Jeep looks like after the lift. The stock tires and wheels look really small on it now and I can't wait to get the bigger tires under it.
