i tried this a couple days ago. no one replied. i found a few threads, one good one between the rough country and another. sounds like the rough country is definately cheap. i decided not to get it. i am going 2'' budget boost and next year getting the black diamond 3" kit and will run it with the budget boost.

I don't personally know alot about the RC lifts for the JK, but I'm familiar on the XJ. Alot of people bash RC lifts for not being flexy or more commonly for riding 'rough' (hence the name) but I can directly attest to this... RC has stand up customer service. Best in the biz IMO.

I am currently running the rough country 4" kit. Measured out to 4.25 when finished. Only suggestion would be to order an adjustable rear track bar and throw the bracket away. Oh, and when you install the kit, dont knock out the tabs at the front lower control arms like the instructions tell you to do. Instead re-use the stock bolt and leave it up to your alignment shop whether the cam bolts are needed or not.

When did you purchase your RC lift kit? The reason I ask is because it looks like Rough Country changed their design. Their current website shows the lift kit to have replaced the adj front track bar with a dropped pitman arm and a relocation bracket. I wanted to purchase this kit at the old design and was just going to upgrade to front upper adjustable control arms and a rear adj track bar. But now I am having second thoughts...Below are some pics of the two kits ...Thanks....

When researching lifts and lift kits, I have heard mixed reviews on Rough Country lifts from a number of professional installers. RC lifts are very competitively priced but this maybe a case of you get what you pay for. When I lift mine I will not be getting a Rough Country, I will stick with the well known suspension builders for the JK: RE, TF, FT, etc..

it also depends on where you look. some sights show the one kit, others show the other. and none of the sites that i have looked at list what is in the pic. that tells me something. buy a better kit where you know what you are getting!

I know Ben at Rough Country and he gave me a great deal on the kit, it's the new style with the drop pitman arm.

Did you have to knock them out when it was alinged? I built an FJ80 (same coil setup) on Volvo portal axles and used 3" lift springs and had to correct the castor, looks like with the 4" there would be even more castor correction needed.
