Rough Country 4" after thoughts
Well, after TWO days of working on installing this lift by myself on my 2 door I thought I would post a few thoughts.
When they say you need a Pitman arm puller, you need a pitman arm puller
. A bearing puller will not cut it. I am not sure why, but WD-40 and all the pressure in the world will not get this part off without the proper tool. 3 hours later I hit Advance auto and spent 15 bucks for the proper tool.
The track bar bracket that came with the kit went on well, but your rear axle will still be off about a half inch. I ended up borrowing a chain fall to pull the axle back in line to connect the track bar.
The first ride (before alignment) was better than expected. It went well down the road. I did splurge on the adjustable lower control arms for the front. I lengthened them out to 23 inches center to center (saw that on here somewhere). The ride is definetly more springy. I would imagine this is due to the beefyness of the parts. Compared to the stuff I took off, WOW.
I also sprang for the RC dual stabilizer. The effort to turn the steering wheel seems no different but it doesn't spring back to center quite so fast.
Finally, I know two days was a bit much to install this lift but for never installing one in my life, and having to learn a few tips and tricks by removing things I had just installed and then putting them back on
, it wasn't so bad.
Special THANKS to Wayoflife for his write up on this lift. I used it in conjunction with the manufacturers instructions and couldn't have got through this without it.

I used an air gun and the pitman puller to pull the pitman arm off. It took like ten minutes. I just would hit the airgun and if didn't work bump up the pressure.
I am gonna put my control arms on tomorrow morning. The superlift instructions say the lower control arms should be 23 1/4. The rear bracket did not line up on mine either. So I drilled it out more to make it line up. I hope that the control arms will make my steering wheel snap back faster. Also gonnna get my front lower trackbar mount welded better tomorrow. Keep an eye on that.

The 2.2 shocks are nice but be prepared that this lift will make your JK ride alot stiffer than stock.
I am very happy with the lift and it wasnt difficult to install, I just followed the directions and used Wayoflifes' write up. Oh, and I saved 500 smackeroos to buy the tires I want.
