I'm looking at buying the rough country 4in x series lift for my 4 door jk. I just want to know if it's a lift worth buying or if I should look at a different brand. if it's not worth it please tell me I'm trying to get the best I can for the money. it looked like a good deal because it includes everything for the lift for a good price, but if I'm better off going a different brand and piecing things together give me some more options. I'm a senior in high school so I don't have a huge budget to work with, but I do want a 4 in lift at least give me your input thanks anything helps

It really depends on what your end goal is, if you’re looking for some added height than it will be overkill. If you’re looking for more flex and an all inclusive kit, it is a pretty good option. It really just depends on what you are looking for and how you use your Jeep.

I'll have to warn you though, the instructions they send you are for their old 4" kit. If you download the instructions off their website it makes the install much smoother.

I have the x series 4" lift. Overall I am pleased with it. I did add the rough country single steering stabilizer and a dropped pitman arm.

Look past the prices and compare components. Does it come with everything you want/need? Is there some form of caster correction included? (do a search on Cam Bolts for opinions and options, then decide if you would rather go with a set of adjustable ca's). Does it include brackets? How do they perform - would you be better off with adjustables? Bumpstops? Brake line extensions or new lines? Axle re-centering front and rear. etc.

Just get a better understanding of what is included, and what (if anything) you are likely to want to upgrade or replace.

What size tires are you planning on running? Which leads to - Why exactly do you want a 4" lift? To run 37" tires? You don't need 4" for 35's, and way overkill for 33's. Are you planning to upgrade the front axle for the bigger tires? And re-gear both axles? And replace the driveshafts? And add the adj ca's you would need for the new shafts. And... See where this is going?

Again, don't just jump into a big lift because of a cheap price tag - get all the information you can before you decide anything...

If you are looking an economical option for a 4" lift check out Zone, you get alot for the price.

Bought my unlimited used and it had the Zone 3" with 35" tires, I added a 1" front level spacer and jks track bar.

I think the 4" kit with shocks is under $600 and it includes an adjustable track bar.

I have recently installed the RC 3.5 lift with 35's and I love it. I comes with a newer version of their shock that seems pretty smooth. I had the alignment set back to factory spec after the lift with no trouble. I did the install in my garage in about 7 hours but I really took my time to double check everything. I think it is a pretty good deal.

i went this route and im a junior in high school. also a 4dr X.
happy so far it is a rough ride but that is to be expected with a $500 lift
im running 35s and about to get gears, track bars are needed too and those are on my very, very long list.
this is a good starter lift, i installed with my neighbor who knows waay too much about jeeps and it was a good learning experience.
let me know which way you go, i want to see!

whoever said something about punctuation, quit being a puss and a troll and answer the question.
