Default Rough Country lift installed

I got my 2.5" rough country coil lift installed this afternoon and I love it. I wish I had the 4", but this is a little more piratical for my daily driver.
First, I will post pics tomorrow.
Second, this lift was unbelievably easy to install. I did the front by my self in about 1 1/4 hours, then my friend showed up and we got the back done in about an hour. No fancy tools, just a ratchet, some wrenches, and a couple sockets. I counted 16 nuts and bolt to remove and replace. The total lift was 3.25" but I will measure again at the end of the week to see how much it's going to settle.
Third, I still need to get my tires, but I just can't decide on a size. Maybe next week I'll get my wheels and tires.
Fourth, I put about 100 miles on the jeep today after the lift was installed and the ride is very good. It seems a bit stiffer than stock, but it's new and not stupid stiff, just a little.

Overall verdict: Very Happy!!!

I am SO happy to hear this... because that is probably the exact lift I'm going to go with! Congrats on the problem-free install.

The only thing that sucks is over 3" is a little bit more of a lift than I care to have on my Jeep. It's seriously my DD and has and will spend most of it's life on the road. I'll see what I can do about perhaps driving through people's lawns on the way to work to make sure it gets it's fill of dirt.

Couple questions... did you order anything else to go with the kit? Quick disconnects? Rear track bar bracket? Are you gonna go with 33's?

Can't wait to see your pics... I think I'm as excited as you are!

Don't worry about it being over the asvertised lift. It will settle. Took about 3 months of city driving to settle back to just over 2.5"

buy or fabricate rear brake line brackets
I have had this one on for 3 months and I love it. I am going to put 35's on and cut my fenders

I did the same install and agree with your findings. I thought the kit went on without any real issues, and I enjoy the ride. Mine is stiffer in the rear than stock, but nothing I find unreasonable. I did install a JKS rear trackbar, but that is the only modification to the kit.

If you don't plan on taking it offroading, you really don't have to worry about the quick discos. Also, with 2.5" of lift, go to 35s, you'll like 'em better.

I haven't done any other mods to the lift yet, I thought I'd see how it went with just the lift for a while. So far so good. The ride is good, I havn't had any problems. It hasn't seen offroad yet, but once I get my wheels and tires I'll go play a bit. I am going to go with 33's, I would like some 35's, but with the price difference and the fact that I DD this, I'm going to stick with the 33's.

I think that in my mind the lift was going to be huge even though it's only 2.5". It's not as big as I'd like, but I think it's going to be great for a DD. My next big thing is do I get pro comp xtreme AT's or spend the extra money and get MTR's with kevlar or BFG km2's??? Also, I'm getting new wheels, black and 16" to cut the cost of tires... I'm still torn on which wheel.

Default pictures

I am picking up my new 33x12.50 Pro Comp Xtreme AT's tomorrow for my 17x9 Pro Comp 8069 wheels. I have been trying to decide between the RC 2.5 or 4 inch lift. Anyone have pictures of the 2.5 with 33 or 35's? Please specify. Many of the pictures on Project JK don't say what equipment is on the vehicles.

Default nice job!

well done man and thanks for the pics and reassuarrance. i have this kit sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. not that i'm afraid of putting it in, just a timing issue (tire shop took forever on my day off!). hope to have time this w/end to put it on, but ur rig looks good. i'm in the same situation as u, my rig is my DD and i have 33x12.50 toyo mt's. you'll like the dramatic difference tires / wheels make on ur rig. man i can't wait to put on my lift now...good stuff dude!
