Rough Country And Links???
Has anyone noticed any reason to get longer rear sway bar links like the Teraflex kit comes with since it didn't come in the Rough country kit?
any advantage to it?
any advantage to it?
When i installed mine, i thoght the front links were too short not the rear... I've got the TF discos for the front, comes with longer links...
Maybe becouse the RC lift is 2" rear and you don't really need them?..
Anyway my jeep rides just like it did before the RC lift... just sits higher

I have heard that when you lift if you extend your rear sway bar links you will get better rear articulation. I went out yesterday to try and flex my RC 2.5 BB with shocks and couldn't get the rear close to maxed out. I even took it over to loading ramp and went up forward and backward. Still not rear max. I did get the front maxed out.

As far as I know, the main reason Teraflex started including the extended rear links was to prevent the front from over extending on e-disconnect equiped JKs. Several people had the sway bar over extend and fold back towards the front, this caused the link to wrap around the tie rod. I think it burned up the e-disconnect too. There were alot of posts about this happening early last year.
Bly is right. That is why they started supplying the extended rear links. I have been told it is totally unnecessary. For an extra dollar per side you should get the brakeline relocation brackets. Make sure to mention you are a jk-forum member and you will get a discount.

theosdad,
yeah, I already got mine. was wondering about the links because they looked like the could flip over if i flexed too much.
did you put extensions on the front too? looked to me like the abs sensor was more the problem. also the brake lines look like they would be hitting the frame if they were lowered. what are your thoughts?

Why do you recommend the brakeline relocation brackets? When I ordered my TF kit from Northridge David told me I did not need these for this kit. Just wondering why you recommend them....

You MOVE the rear links up to the front, that's why you get new longer rears. The stock rears are already about 2.5" longer then the fronts. Again this is ONLY for jeeps with the factory E-Disco. If you get aftermarket quick disco's for the front it's not neccissary to move the rears or even upgrade them.
Personally I thought the rears were limiting the travel at full flex so I opted to get the longer rears (my kit did not originally come with them). This is just my personal opinion based on my Jeep.
