Default Rough Country Quick Disconnect Issues

Anyone have the Rough Country disconnects? Im not sure if I am doing something wrong but the ends of the links dont slide into the shafts...at all..the directions arent much help as it should be self explanitory...maybe I am just that bad... but really they should slide in and arent. I couldn't imagine disconnecting being very quick if they dont slide in and out smoothly.

Scroll down and youll see the disconnects

Not happy at all.

Put some lubricant on them and waiting a few hours.... I will get back !

hehe yea I smacked them so hard they wouldn't come back out so I could align them!

Lubricant and a screwdriver from the inside (smacked with a hammer) and 10 minutes later they came out. I just installed them and took them for a late ride just to make sure they were tight, but not over tightened.

I will disconnect tommorrow and let you know what I think!

I think they shouldn't have been shipped out like this is what I think. Yeah mine didn't work their way in so I did not want to smack them in and not be able to pull them out!

I think it is the powdercoat build up...way too much powdercoat...gonna take some steel wool and sandpaper on them.

Should have went JKS or TF....

Yeah the powdercoat was thick. Just like the rugged ridge mirror relocation brackets filler holes.

Anyways the directions were terrible. I think I actually might have to reinstall them, I might have put the washer in the wrong place.

Ok disconnected them, which took about 15 minutes! The 3 piece design was very awkward. I'm guessing I had to take out the center piece since it could get lost during a trail. When I finally decided that these were too much work to be a quick disconnect I began to reinstall them which was even more difficult! Took a crowbar and a jack to install them. it was askew and would not go back into the center piece. Either my sway bar is bent, these are pieces of shit, or I installed wrong (all very likely) but unless someone emails me some good directions like I asked on FRIDAY via there online chat!!!!!(but was never responded to) or I am taking these off. Im a little scared because since the frickin powdercoat was so thick and trying to take these off were a mess, they did get dinged up a bit. Im uncertain if I want to put the rough country sticker on my jeep. The 2.5'' BB was awesome but this is crap.

I was also planning to buy the Rock Sliders when they came out, if they allow me to return it or if they fix the issue I still might consider it

Well...I took a pipe cleaner (steel wool ball on a stick) and roughed up the powder coating on the inside...and sanded the joins down a bit....they slide in and out like butter now...

I didnt get a chance to install them as I gave an attempt before the Santiago run, couldnt get the old links off, and ran out of time! So I'll have to test them later and let you know.

I hate them. Is this overtly critical??!?? Got up to big bear for my camping vacation and found they one side was wearing through the rubber bushing Mostly my fault for assembling with the washer on the wrong side. I went by the distorted black and white photos when I installed...and the directions..." Assemble"

I'm going to try and send these back but if they dont want them back, I'll take the loss and I just wont buy the Sliders I've been waiting for !!!

But I still love the RC BB!!!!!!!! I still might put on the Decal in the front. Still deciding.

Don't do it! Not unless they paid you to put them on.
