Rough Ride
Hope I can get some insight from my fellow jeepers on this forum. I am new to jeeping, only owned my jeep for about 2 years now. Recently decided to upgrade my suspension, wheels, and tires. After doing so I have noticed the ride is significantly rougher than when everything was stock. Is this normal or should I be worried this is an issue. It seems very stable at highway speeds but in town or off-road the ride is very rough when any sort of pothole or dip is hit at 15-30mph.
Specs are as follows:
2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport Unlimited
3.5" AEV DualSport RS Suspension
5160 Bilstein Remote Reservoir Shocks
17" AEV Pintler Wheels
35" Nitto Terra Grappler Tires (usually aired up at 32-35psi)
Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Have you chalk tested the tires? What load range are they? D/E have stiffer sidewalls and are generally made for bigger, heavier trucks. Dropping down to the 28-30 range may help. (depending on...)
When the lift was installed, were all suspension/steering components tightened/torqued while on the ground under vehicle weight, or while up on a lift?
I don't recall seeing any feedback on those shocks, but there are reports that the 5100 is somewhat stiff, though some say they start stiff and loosen up after a while. (depending on...)
Those coils are supposed to give a pretty good ride, so I doubt that would be the issue.

Lifting your vehicle isn't going to make it any smoother. At least not with a bolt on kit. The problem is that you chose an AEV lift, which isn't a bad lift, but is on the stiffer side.
32-35 psi is probably too much. Try the chalk test and I bet you'll end up in the 25-27 psi range. What load range are the tires? An E range tire is too stiff to run on a jeep. Even a D range tire is too stiff but is acceptable.

Unless it's specifically built with individual components meant for super comfort and smoothness I highly doubt it.
Full bolt on kits rarely soften anything.
I had a MC 3.5 and while it's relatively comfortable it's NOT better than stock comfort and softness wise.
Better for sure offroad but on road my friend's stocker is more comfy over potholes etc.

I run basically the same as you but run MTZ tires. I run my tires at 26 most the time.. I'll pump them up if I'm going long distance but in the spring often run them at 23.
I've got 30,000 on my tires and they still got another 10-12 months on them.
I did recently switch the shocks to Rancho xl9000s and it made a softer ride but not a better ride.. The ride is soft running the shocks set at 3 in the front and 5 in the rear but I don't really like it.. Find the the handling isn't good.
This might sound really really crazy.. But go flex your jeep up nicely, run it hard on some bumps... I find this oddly makes my jeep feel less stiff if I do this every few months. My logic is it loosens up the bushings moves the grease around.
