Default Rubi front/Non Rubi rear differentials

I'm going to be re-gearing my Jeep soon. It's got a non-rubi rear differential and a D44/J8 rubi front differential. I know the differences on axle splines and all that, but I'm wondering specifically about the non-rubi rear ring and pinion. Are those the same? In other words, can I buy a complete set of Rubicon gears with the master install kit and expect the rear ring & pinion and bearings to work with the D44HD that's in the back, instead of ordering all the parts piecemeal?

Not sure what you're asking here, but the rear diff on a stock unlimited sport (like ours) should be a D44. If you're going to remove the front D30 and replace it with a D44 then the only issue I see is with the transfer case as it's not a Rubicon transfer case. others wise upgrading your gear ratio in both the front and back to the same gear ration should be acceptable.

It's no so much the ratio, I'm mostly wondering what the difference is between the rear ring and pinion if it's labeled "Rubicon" or "Non Rubicon". I know the splines are different, I'm just curious about the ring & pinion itself.

I'm 99% sure that based on the retail websites, the rear R&P and master install kit is going to be the same for a non-rubi D44 rear as a rubi 44. I say that cuz the listings note the same part for Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. I don't order and install gears every day so I'm not going to say that is 100% accurate, but I think you are correct in your thinking that you can order 1 complete set of gears for front/rear rather than ordering separate. I'd maybe lob a question into the guys at Northridge or your retailer of choice.

IE - if you just look at the rear R&P set and look at fitment, the same rear R&P shows fitting all the rear 44 models.

The gears that went in my non-rubicon rear 44 had 'Rubicon' stamped on the box.

I've set up a couple of these a few years back and the only difference I saw was the Rubicon axles are different lengths. So the carrier must be different for the offset to be correct. When I put a Pro Rock in the front I went conventional so I wasn't restricted to just the Rubi or Air Locker options. As stated the R & P is the same.

The gears are the same between a sport rear and a Rubicon.rear. Pinion bearings are the same too. Diff carrier bearings are different.

What exactly does the T-Case have to do with this? As far as I know you can run Rubi T-case on D30 44 60 80 the same as you can run a non-Rubi t-case on the same axles. Sorry OP I can't help you with an answer and neither can this guy.

You can run either "T" case. The ratio is the difference with the Rubi case being 4.1 to 1. The Rubi case has a planetary gear set which allows the lower reduction. The Sport case is 2.7 to1 if I remember correctly.
