Default rubi locker mod

So I stumbled among a wire diagram to rewire your factory rubi lockers so they can be engaged independently and you could use them in 4HI and 2HI. Has anyone done this. If so was it hard and are their any side effects.

Quite a few people have done the mod where they add a switch and some wire to each relay's ground wire.
The OEM switches remain functional.
The only side effect is the indicator light for the locker will continue to blink as long as it's locked through the added switch.
It blinks because the locker is in a different position than what the computer thinks it should be.
Be aware that if the axle is locked on the road, it can unexpectedly send the Jeep into the on-coming lane, or off into the ditch.

O I would never engage any of them on the road. My old jeep I had a AL in the rear and wheeled in 2wd. I liked the challenge. Only pulled into 4lo when I couldn't get thru something.

I did because in the rock piles sometimes I want front only....I want control of my lockers when I want em and not both just to get front engaged...works perfect...

I actually am planning on doing this today. If you dont want to buy the kit, and your like me and always have a project or two, you will have everything you will need in your garage. There is a couple different threads in the write up section, as well as a video on youtube, giving step by step details, looks simple enough to me. Good Luck
