Rubi Lockers Not Engaging?
Any idea why the locker indicators on my Rubicon's dash are not consistently remaining lit after being engaged? Sometimes the rear locker indicator remain lit while the front locker indicator will continue to flash, and vice versa on other occasions?
I recently installed a Rubicrawler with the control module. I have been testing, the lockers on the street, as I have not been off road since the install, and found what I describe above. I was wondering if the electrical connector on the transfer case position sensor could have been damaged and causing the problem, i.e. the Wrangler's computer does not think the transfer case is in 4LO, which is a condition for engaging the lockers, even though I am pushing the locker buttons?
Do you think the transfer case linkage could be at fault?

FWIW:
Per a different forum member's suggestion, I found some loose uneven pavement close to home. I was out there for @ half hour, and each time I engaged the lockers I had success after a few yards of squirreling the steering wheel back and forth. Sometimes I did not even have to do that. I believe he was correct in stating that the axles need a lil' kick in the arse (rotating up and down), to git there giddy up on, i.e. lock up. I believe testing on pavement can possibly lead to misleading conclusions regards locker operation.
I haven't wheeled in a while and recalled that the lockers never came on instantly anyway...

I've had similar happen. Been out wheeling in 4LO with rear locked. Every so often the rear lock icon would begin to flash again for a few seconds and then go back solid.
Never seemed to come unlocked, but strange to me that it would indicate I wasn't locked, even if only a few seconds. Not something I want failing when I need it.

I have noticed that when getting them to initially lock up you sometimes have to make a slight turn to get the axles lined up with each other properly so that they will engage. I have never noticed that I lost locking status once engaged but I no longer use the factory button or indicator lights to control my lockers. I have completely bypassed everything in the Jeep and have my own status lights in the switches that I use.
