Default rubi t case or not???

hey i am interested in swapping out my stock x tcase for a rubi case and the place im looking at has one but cannot tell me if its a rubi case or not

i call the dealer with the vin that the tcase is comming out of and they still didnt know which was the rubicon t case or not

wondering if anyone could help me figure this out and tell me what i am looking for ??

Looks like 6th DIGIT should be a 6 for a RUBI ...

My X has a 2 in 6th position so it matches info on this site ...

You could ask Guinness. He did the same swap. I think they shipped him the Xcase twice before getting the Rubi case. I am sure he knows exactly what the number should be.

Couldn't you mechanically test it, similar to how you figure out what gearing you have? Engage 4-lo in the tc, then turn the input shaft and count the turns of the output shafts? Should be 4:1 for rubi? 2.somethin for non-rubi?

Just a thought?

ive seen rubi cases for under 700 look on car-parts.kom and see what is listed. I think the only difference between the rubi case and the x is the planetary gears. I am looking into it. If it is then maybe a resonable cost to get them from the dealer.
