I ordered my Rubicon a few months back and assumed that I would be getting 4.10's as the sales rep told me. Two reasons, it was a Rubicon and I ordered the max tow package. Once the Jeep arrived I noticed the build sheet mentioned 3.73's. I asked the dealer a couple times after purchase about this and they told me my Jeep has 4.10's. A bunch of lies I tell you bc after calling Chrysler they told me I have 3.73's as per what the dealer ordered for me. Now I have a case open with Chrysler and the dealer about getting a gear swap out. Has anyone had to do this and what were your results? Also if I get to choose gears, should I stick with 4.10's or go 4.56's due to the fact I want 35's or 37's in a couple of years. The Jeep won't see a ton of mileage due to me traveling with work. Currently I have 295/70R17 Nitto trail grapplers on the rig. Any suggestions or comments would be nice to hear. Also if I had to buy gears, what companies should I stick with?

When I ordered my 2012 rubicon, it defaulted to 4.10, but 3.73 was an option. I opted for the 4.10. Even if Chrysler says yes it should have been 4.10's, the best they are going to do is put 4.10's on the jeep. 4.56's are not even a factory option, so I doubt you could get that from Chrysler. I would try to make them do right and get you he 4.10's especially if it is going to be awhile before you up your tire size. The are a lot of people on the forum that are running 35's and 4:10's.

Even if I had to buy the 4.56's and the dealer would do a free install I would really like that. 37's would be the ultimate goal. My dream, (which I want to complete is in a couple of years) is to go ride with Wayoflife out west on a few runs lol. I'm a Red Stag fan, but I could make do with American Honey for a week.

WHen I ordered my 2012 Rubi I specified 4:10 gears. From what I understand the 2012 is the first year Jeep offers the rubicon in 4:10. Normally, there was no option, you just got 4:10's. IF they do a gear upgrade for free, you may wantto consider 4:56's. Information on the 4:56 is hard to find so be carefull.

Im sorry you are going through this. Id be pissed especially since I bought the 35in tires before I got the truck delivered.

Agree with RubiWood, IF they offer you gears and still cover your warranty they'll opt for 4.10's. Even when you build a Rubicon online it automatically defaults to 4.10's, strange that they gave you 3.73's. Hope all works out in the end.

Do you have any type of written order sheet that states 4.10s when you ordered?

Honestly, IMHO, the '12 drives better on 32s with the 3.73s (not true in prior years) so you may want to think about keeping what you have until your tire upgrade. Something to keep in mind, dealers do not do much regearing work so you might not get the best setup which leads to issues down the road. Think about if you actually trust this work to the dealer.

Unfortunately I do not have any written proof of the 4.10's. The sales guy at the dealer said my Jeep would have them so I believed him, it's going to be hard to prove this... I'm afraid of the dealer doing the gear swap too, I already put on 33's and can feel the difference going up hills compared to my brothers Sahara with 3.73's. Both are 2012's
