Rubicon acle swap
Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to the Jeep world and was wondering what all I am going to need to do for a Rubicon axle swap. I'm getting both axles from a friend of mine that is upgrading the axles on his Rubicon soon. I've found the wiring harness and switch module online, but is there anything else that I am going to need? Thanks
I'm about to do this too. Look up the threads on how to wire the lockers. You'll need the switches, obviously, but besides that, if you have some pretty basic hand tools, you're good to go.
Yep, easy stuff. A few more steps than installing a lift.
You should ask your friend to just cut the ends of his harness for you. You just want the connectors and enough wire to splice. Then you don't have to buy a $100 harness for nothing.
Switches depend on how you want them to work. Personal preference.
Whatever you do, don't attempt to set it up like a factory rubicon and run through the computer. Terrible idea.

Thanks guys. I was wondering how I was going to manage the whole computer aspect of it, but now that I know, I feel much more comfortable. Just out of curiosity, are the computers different between the two? His is a 14 and mine is an 08
no you do not, you just splice into the relay wires and run them each to a switch. Ive seen a few write ups around. Hardest part was getting at the short wires on the relay...
