Default Rubicon Express 2.5" lift

I've researched a million lifts it seems like and just can't make a decision. I currently have 2.5" rough country BB but wanting to swap in some new coils and get a little more travel. I don't do any hard knock wheeling, just mild stuff for now. Can't seem to find many recent reviews of the lift. I know a few guys run the kit, please check in and let me know how it's working for you. Thanks

I wheel about like what you do and I put in the RE 2.5 with mono lift. Couldn't be happier with it. The shocks are rebadged bilstein 5100's with some fine tuning. The ride is a little stiff on road but off road it's awesome. I'm running 35" tires with it. No problems.

I think i'm going to get the RE 2.5" i'm going to go ahead and get adj LCA and front adj track bar aswell. I would really like to get the RK 3.5 flex lift but it's $1300 and no shocks. The RK 3.5 flex has everything i want but cost so much but the RE is like $700 and that plus LCA and track bar it would probably be over $1300 so idk what i'm going to do.

Rock krawler is top notch but yeah it is spendy. After almost a year after my RE lift install I'm still happy with it. .

Don't know if have a 2 or 4 door. On my 2 door I netted 3.5 on the front after the lift. When I Put on my steel bumper and synthetic winch it dropped almost a .5 inch. No more factory rake look either.

I've got the 4 door front and rear steel bumpers and ordering a 11,000# warn winch. So i'm thinking i might need the .5 spacers up front?

You may not. The springs are 2 and 4 door specific. . But you could always put it in and see how it looks.

You won't need spacers, the coil springs in that kit have a heavy spring rate, the RE 2.5" sport lift was my original kit, but my 4 door ended going almost 4" up with it, with a little rake in the front, after adding 150lbs to the nose (stubby bumper and 12k winch), it went down .5" and ended up level, but it was still too high for me considering i have 33's. I have the RE springs in my garage, like new, not even 3k miles on them, i'll be putting them for sale, $160 for the set of 4.

I have the RE 2.5" lift on my 2 door JK. The lift itself was as basic as any of the others out there. If you plan on going to a 35" tire there are two things extra I would recommend: A geometry correction bracket and adjustable track bars.

I have Smittybilt SRC Gen2 bumpers front and rear with a winch up front and a tire carrier on the rear. On the stock Rubicon suspension it sat pretty low to the ground. I netted almost 4" of lift in the front and 1.5" in the rear (suspension was really sagged). It has settled to about 3" in the front. I had to swap my rear springs, my 4WP store was able to get the 4 door rear springs and they helped level the jeep out a great deal, giving me closer to 2.5" over the sagged suspension.

I put on 35s and found that with the RE upper rear sway bar bracket my rear suspension was about 1.5" too far to the left and was causing some driveability problems with the 35s. I was able to get a set of used JKS adjustable track bars and now my front and rear are centered quite well. I don't even rub anywhere with the correct backspacing (okay the rubicon rail rubs a tiny bit at low psi and full flex).

I like the ride, the springs are good, my Jeep only wanders due to having a bad castor but on the stock BFG KOs it drove fine (i need to correct hopefully with a geometry correction kit). The shocks are better than the Rubicon stock ones and I get a nice rolling motion on the trails as opposed to the stock bump stops.

If you install the included bump stops you will not gain any flex whatsoever but you can fit 35s without hassle. I got the same RTI ramp score as a stock Rubicon as I did as a lifted Rubicon with the stock tires.

I like the kit and it was good for the price. I personally think the Teraflex or AEV 2.5s would have been equally good options (AEV comes with the geometry brackets).
