Default Rubicon Express Long Arm

Thinking about getting the RE long arm setup. Anyone running it? Pros and cons?

I read a really positive review on the kit from like 4 wheel drive magazine or something, dont quite remember....

But I will say, Eddie has a post explaining how this kit actually binds when it flexes, limiting its flex.. which if you think about it, makes a lot of sense..

Personally, Id agree with planman and go teraflex, or wait it out and get Off Road Evolutions new system (the brackets mount on the inside of the frame rails instead of the bottom) But it might be expensive

Haha this one is almost like beating a dead horse.

Arguments that are for and against this kit already posted are all valid.

I haven't had any issues with mine, but I'm sure the bushings will go at some point and will need to be replaced. The ride off road and on road is unmatched(short of most likely a coilover setup, EVO specifically)

Everyone I know loves the kit and the 5 link designs will also bind as well due to the design. A good 3 link really seems to be the way to go as planman has said, but for daily driving, might not be your best alternative.

With the long arm kits I have seen, your articulation is limited by your shock length. I can fully extend and compress every shock just as you can with the TF long arm. A big selling point for me were the high mounts of the RE kit. This gives you a couple more inches of height underneath the vehicle which has been very helpful for me and I have seen it be detremental in some of the TF JK's. However, the TF mounts IMO are still better than the FT mounts as far as clearance goes. The only other high mounting LA kit at this point would be the EVO kit and I'd be very curious to see how that one performs once it actually goes for sale. I've also been a big fan of the uptravel with my RE kit as compared to the TF kit. I have limited experience with the performance of the FT kit. After riding in the TF LA JK's, I'd still have to say the RE rides and handles better. That is just my experience of course.

But as stated before, TF does make an excellent kit that performs well and through this forum you will find great customer sercvice with Joe @ Teraflex.

I think planman summed it up pretty good!

I think it would be hard to beat the on-road handling of the RE long-arm kit.
Smooth as silk with zero pull, bump-steer, shimmy, or noise. 90+ mph and very tame.
