Rubicon Express or Teraflex

Looking at getting the Rubicon Express 4.5 long arm kit or the Tera Flex 4 inch long arm kit. They are both baiscally the same price with pretty much the same features, so which one do I go with?? HELP PLEASE

I would definitely recommend the Teraflex over the Rubicon Express. See my signature for my set up...now I don't have any experience with either of the long arm kits, but I've heard next to nothing negative about any of the Teraflex kits and the customer service is outstanding. I have read numerous negative things about the RE kits and I know many members (including my dad) that have had all of their control arm bushings go bad on them after a very short time. Now, that's not to say that all of their kits are bad...that wouldn't be fair to say because I'm sure there are many others on here that have the RE kits and love them. I'm going to bet that the consensus to your question will be towards Teraflex.

cant go wrong with teraflex from what I have read, but I have the 4 inch mopar lift, (basically just a reboxed rubi express lift) but I absolutely love it, smooth street right, not to rigid, very comfortable

I have the Rubicon express and love it. The reason I got the RE kit was because I had a lot of people tell me good things about the Rubicon express stuff. Either way you can’t go wrong. I also think the Rubicon Express has a way of limiting the articulation and the Teraflex does not. There are two schools of thought on if it is good to limit the articulation this way. That might be what will sway you one way or another. Both names are very will respected.

Go Teraflex.

I have Rubicon Express on my JK right now;

Rubicon express got their good reputation from the TJ's era. Now we ride JK's and its a whole other story.

All of my rear bushings and front trackbar were blown within 6 months of installation. Ive sent numerous emails to RE and NEVER had a single response, even when only asking for replacement part numbers i wanted the BUY.

Never had any Teraflex stuff, but ive read tons of good reviews on their products.

TeraFlex beats RE for just their customer service alone--not to mention their products are excellent too.

if you plan on flexing your jeep, i would definitely get a kit that retains the 4-link setup. radius arms are nice and work well up front if you plan on just racing through the desert as all your axle will see is big vertical travel. but, by it's design, you're suspension will be in a state of bind the minute you try to articulate your axle. fortunately, the factoy rubber bushings on the front axle are somewhat large and can take the abuse for a while and that's why you don't hear too many people with TJ's complaining about it. however, radius arms in the rear is just a mistake and one that more and more people are finally starting to realize. in addition to the stresses the upper bushings see from flex, they also see a significant amount of stress just from the torque of your rear axle. because of the design, material used and the smallish size of these rear bushings, they will fail very quickly and in some cases, in as little as one run. trust me, i have seen it and this is not something that you can maintain and prevent. for those who claim not to have any problems, i would argue that they've never taken apart their rear radius arms and checked the bushings.

believe what you will but this is all just a matter of suspension geometry and design. regardless of who makes it, you will still have the same problems with radius arms.
