Default Rubicon Express U Joint (4.5" Long Arm ? )

For the rear driveshaft, who is running it with a slip yoke?

If you are what size U Joints do you know your running. Which driveshafts are you running.

I was told (the shop ordered them) when installation happened almost a year ago, that I am running Rubicon Express Standard Driveshafts .. well ordered the U Joint for it ... supposed to fit a 1310 - 1330 Rubi Express STND driveshaft ...

well it arrived today from Rubicon Express by UPS ... its the wrong Joint.

HOW DO I FIGURE OUT WHAT SIZE IT IS (JOINT!!!!) so I can replace it, so I can drive my Jeep.

The shop that did the installation also no longer has a working number, or a website, or a myspace (buisness) page. HMM!? So I can't get ahold of the guy that did the installation to bug him more about it ... I really think I am getting screwed on this ...

the JK does not use drive shafts with a slip yoke. that is something the older TJ's used and was something that people got rid of as soon as they lifted their jeeps.

So did I get jipped out of a chunk of money (850$ worth) . When aftermarket driveshafts were added, he also ordered a slip-yoke eliminator and it was installed and on .... I am confused now ..

oh boy. You think a 4x4 shop could figure it out by looking at it and the reciepts I have from it all !?

unfortunately, yes, you paid for something that you didn't need and i would raise hell over it. the JK has a fixed yoke and you do not need an SYE or slip yoke eliminator to be installed. more than likely, you got charged for parts that you don't have and for work that was never done. sorry to be the bearer of bad news but hopefully you can now get your money back.

EDIT: i just re-read the whole post and see that the guy is out of business. i really am sorry but i think you got royally screwed.

Yep, I did ... I always wondered about it ... Especially since there was no (parts ordered, just typed in on the reciept!).

Also for the cheap a$$ job, done on our silenoid box for the winch .. it looked like crap! He charged us 160$ ... I couldn't get my JK back without ever paying him though ...

MAN! These are the kind of shops to watch out for ...

This blows!

Post up some pics of the shaft and maybe someone can identify it. Just out of curiosity, what makes you think that you need a new joint so badly? How many miles do you have on yours?

already took the joint out .. I may have one from before ... one of the end caps of the joints was free balling it. The needle bearings somehow got crushed and I could wobble the joint around and it wasn't pretty.

I will post pics in a bit. Gotta go outside and get em. It needed a new joint. Didn't want to lose my driveshaft driving down the road, one maybe two more trips to wal-mart and it wouldve been the death of that driveshaft.

Kinda like my front u joint right before It blew apart while I was driving.

EDIT:

rear driveshaft
transfer case end
