rubicon express vs. teraflex
I have a 3.5" rubicon express kit (standard kit with currie front lowers and rear upper arms, ome shocks) on my personal jk unlimited. Then I installed a teraflex 3" (standard with tera ft lowers and rr upper arms, tera shocks) for the dealership I work for. The teraflex kit rides and drives tremendously better, no flighty feeling and much softer ride. Anyone have the same experience with their rubicon express kits? I am thinking about swapping lifts on mine, the other rides/drives that much better.
Both rigs were running load E rated tires. David at northridge hooked me up with the ome shocks, so i hope they are correct. The one difference is the tera jk had +7 castor and I am running +5.7. Would there be that much difference in that? I am also running about 32 psi in my tires.
the rubicon kit came with an adjustable track bar, is it decent? My control arms are twisted in the mounts, is that normal, i have loosened and re-tightened the jam nut, but they are twisted again?

Much of the improved ride is probably due to the tuned shocks/coils in the TF lift, but as Planman explained there are differences between the bushings and joint in both lifts.
Stiff bushings will make a noticeable difference on the street where irregularities on the road will cause perturbations too small for the coils to fully absorb so they gets transmitted via the links.
In terms of handling:
The flighty feeling you refer is either an alignment problem, a geometry difference created by one lift producing more lift than the other.
Either way it's an interesting comparison of the two lifts.
