Default rubicon rear gears in an x

hey fellas just picked up a used set of 4.10s and just wanted to make sure the rear is the same on my x as a rubicon. i thought the biggest difference is the number of splines and that wont affect me because ill use my original carrier

rubicon should be dana 44...the x should be dana 30,33 or 35

maybe they will work...but maybe not too

You should have a Dana 30/44 f/r and the 4.10s should be good. I assume you got the front gears also

As long as you don't have an early modle 07 with the d35. If your 08 and newer everything should be fine.

The rubi axles are different in spline, and are different lengths from side to side. The pumpkin is offset to one side.

the center section is the same high pinion diff on either one. The gears should work.

Pull out your gears and see if the holes line up

Yes your rear rubicon take out 4.10 ring gear and pinion will fit an X rear Dana 44, but you will require a Dana 30 front ring and pinion specific to the JK to fit your X.

As far as other pieces to swap from a Rubicon axle to non Rubi...umm...that's it....as mentioned the axles are different lengths, the bearings are different and swapping a rubicon rear locker in an X rear end won't work...dpoelestra did a Front Rubicon D44 locker swap into his X's rear...but ask him how easy and straight forward it was.
The ring and pinion are the same on a rear D44, rubi or non...but not a front rubi 44 as the fronts have reverse cut teath.

...clear as mud?

....oh and to clarify for others. Only a few...very early production '07 2 doors were produced with a rear D35. All other '07 and newer model Xs and Saharas have D30 front D44 rear.
