Default Are Rubicon shocks longer?

I just ordered my 2" Full Traction leveling kit. The guy at 4Wheel Parts said the Rubicon shocks are longer and don't need to be replaced. I saw a FS ad earlier that said the are 14.25" extended. Anyone know if there's any merit to his calim?

Thanks!

Yes, the Rubicon shocks are longer than an X or Sahara Shock by about an inch.

If the guy at 4 Wheel Parts told you that, you can be 99% sure that you need to get longer shocks. I have yet to find anyone at that store that knew what they were talking about.

Guess I'll give it a shot with the stockers and see what happens from there. I was thinking about getting the ProComp ES9000s. I had them on my WJ and though they are firm it really enhanced the handling, plus I never had a problem with them. I know they are cheap, but they worked.

Well, I was putting on my 2" Full Traction kit and purchased the ProComp ES9000s from the ProComp 1.75" JK BB just in case the stockers weren't long enough. I pulled 1 front and 1 rear stock shock. They both measured 23" when exteneded from "eye to eye". I then proceeded to measure the ProComps...guess what they were the exact same length. So, for now I am going to run the stockers, thestockers were also more "firm" than the ProComps which surprised me. It seems these stock Rubicon shocks, from my hands on experience are well made and plenty long for a 2" kit.
