Default Rubicon transfer case swap

Hello everyone I know this has been asked several times and I searched but couldn't find anything other than a generic yes it will work post so I was wondering if someone could help me out. 08 jk 6 speed what year transfer case out of a rubicon do I need? Also being that it is a manual is there need for a flashcal afterwards?

You do need the flashcal or Jscan.

On the swap- I don't know for certain, but I think us folks with the early manuals can accept any tcase. Verify it though before running with it.

I’ve heard it’s hit or miss on the flashcal automatic definitely yes but for the manuals there’s no need because you’re controlling shift points, anyone else out there that’s done this swap in a manual

My son had a 2016 Sport and installed my Rubicon transfer case in from a 2008. No issues. Fit perfect. No ECU changes.

Yes it was. Put it in and drove it. Early Ruby cases fit all 6 speeds. Can't remember how the autos work configuration wise.
