I believe you can just swap.
You are taking off the Rubi case to put on an X? Most people want to go the other way... I'm sure there are lots of people here who would gladly trade you!

 

Putting the Rubicon transfer case INTO an X. I would love to do this as well...from that view point, will it work?

I am pretty sure they are interchangeable. There are others here who have done it... You should be able to find their notes.

 

I switched mine out. It was really easy. Just borrowed a transmission jack. Unbolted the 6 or so bolts and put the new one right up there. Basically anything i have read suggests make sure you get one from an automatic if you have an auto and maunal if you have a manual.

Really it was pretty straight forward and it is so much better. It helped alot to turn the 35's off road.

 

sounds like a super quick mod.. just jack and wrench anyone gettin rid of their case and in TN?
