Default Ruffstuff tie rod?

Anyone running the ruffstuff tie rod? I need to replace mine on my JKU and found this one. All the reviews are from three years ago. Some talked about the boot leaking grease. I wonder if they have upgraded the boots to fix the problem.

Those are just GM 1-ton ends. I can't be certain, but I'd be really surprised if boots have changed over the years on that part. What I would say is that people in general tend to be notorious for trying to overfill TRE ends with grease and use the boot as more of a grease reservoir and causing their own issue.

You should take a look at Bora Bora's thread here where he did a DIY TR out of aluminum. Same idea as the Ruff Stuff but I think a better end-product:

It depends on what you want to do with that tie rod. Mine was awesome on the street and great on the trail- until I set it on a rock. Then adjustments got awkward and even now I've got a small shimmy. I'll be going aluminium to give me the bounce and cut weight.

Check out doetsch off-road out of Arizona. They have a alum 1 ton tie-rod and drag link flip for 400 bucks. I haven't put the drag link on yet but the tie-rod is great. The only thing I wish I wouldn't have done is buy the stabilizer clamp, the bolt is too big for the shock so I couldn't put it on. I just run without one now.
