Default Rugged Ridge Bumper Question

I am thinking about ordering the rugged ridge modular bumper, non winch version with endcaps and the hoop. I am wondering if the plastic thingie that comes stock under the front of the jeep can be used with the rugged ridge...

My concearn is that if I dont have this piece on there that I will have the hood lift problem...if it is not supposed to be used, is there anyway to modify it to be used? If not, are the people with the rugged ridge bumpers experiencing hood lift on the highway?

I have no hood lift issues with this bumper. But, if your concerned you can purchase the lower skid that replaces that plastic piece of...

So... you don't ever want a winch huh??? Just my 2 cents but i would buy the winch one and just don't put the winch in the hole. If you ever want a winch you'd already have the spot for it. And in the mean time you can use the hole for storing your tow strap while wheeling.

Ive been thinking about this for a while, I just dont see myself using it...I really dont have too many places to off road around here in the first place...which sux...

Im still thinking about it, but Im leaning toward the non winch...I do plan on getting the RR skidplate, but prob not right away...Im also not getting the bumper for a while, so I still have some time to think about the winch...

I would just hate to see you buy the non-winch model and then want a winch and have to do it all over again. I just try to think ahead to what I want and not what I can afford. The winch bumper will look fine without a winch in it. And if someone makes fun of you.. just tell them that you take the winch out because you don't need your $1500.00 Warn powerplant out in the weather salt and all when your not wheeling.

Thats exactly what I was worried about, a bumper with a big hole in it....lol

There is an off road store near me and I think they carry the RR, im going to go look at it before I buy...

Thanks for the opinions tho...I will keep it in mind!!!

In my past life of running full size trucks we would be greatful to have a nice spot like that for hiding a tow strap. Really... if someone wants to comment " what no winch" it's just Jeep Envy.

We had hood lift issues while on the highway and when it was windy. From what I've heard, even with the skid plate you could experience hood lift. Again, since it was only $25 we bought the Daystar hood latch setup and problem solved.

From what you are describing, if you dont need a winch you might not need the $150 skid plate either...
