Default Rugged Ridge Flat Flares

I have been running these flares for a few months now and they are awesome. I am not using the liners based on the fact of money($320-$350). Bit much for me. I'd like to pick them up to make the rig look cleaner but so much money. I'm just a simple active duty Soldier. Anybody run these flares without the liners and anybody have any ideas on fabricating their own liners? I'd really appreciate the help.

I've seen a few post of people trimming their stock liners after they trimmed the stock fenders. Something to look into. I've been looking at the rugged ridge flares but the pics make them look kinda flimsy. Have you discovered anything negative about them?

Avoid them, I ran a set for about a month before they started cracking, the fronts started splitting at the bottom back edge where it turns to bolt into the fender and went up from there, for about the same price you can get the smittybilt XRC steel flares, I've had them on for 8-10 months now and no issues with them at all

Do the XRC steel flares come with liners? They look stout. I like. The Rugged Ridge are good a long as you install them properly and use some extra washers.

The XRC do not come with liners. I trimmed my stock liners to make them work. I had the Rugged Ridge liners prior to the XRC and they were terrible! They flapped around like a dirt bike and they started to crack. Had I known better I would have cut my stock flares before purchasing the RR flares. Very happy with the XRC's!

Damn, I got rid if my stock liners months ago. Trying to figure out a cheaper option than the Rugged Ridge Liners. Do you still have the Rugged Ridge side marker lights installed with the Smittybilt flares?

Yes I do. I like the look of the side marker under the flare. I don't think they will last long since I've already tore them off once flexing. I may take them off prior to my next wheeling trip.

I've been running them since Feb and now I'm just running the rears. I've had them wheeling a few times and played in the mud and the front left cracked about half way up from the bottom to the top. I'll probably go with Xenon or bushwackers in the front when I get around to it. I started to try and fix them with fiberglass but they were just too far gone. The other side had started to break out at a few of the bolt holes as well. I really loved the look and the price, but the durability is just not there!
