Default Rugged ridge trash

So I ordered rugged ridge flat flares and inner fenders. Quality was decent on the flat flares but the inner guards are absolutely horrible. Took them 3 days to get back to me about the wrong bracket they had sent me. By then I had bought and installed a different one. I also had to dremel 2-3 holes on each piece because they were off by enough where I couldn't manipulate them in. Also called them at least a half a dozen times first time got a woman who was utterly useless. Took my name and number and said would have one of the tech guys call me back as soon as possible because I was mid install. that was 11am on Monday I called back at 2pm - 3pm - and 430 twice got different people who patched me into an answering machine and then another girl who also had no idea and left me on hold for 35 mins before I hung up. will never buy another rugged ridge piece.

I have the RR rocker guards. They work, but are cheap Chinese steel. I've beat them to hell.
From now on I'm going to try to buy American, especially when it comes to skids/bumpers.

Yes- rugged ridge, smittybilt, and omix-ada (parent company of the two) are all the same. They're cheap and work well for looks but the install and function aren't always great.

Been there, done that with their bumpers so I went American and quality this go round.

I have the smittybilt SRC front bumper. No complaints. I beat that bumper too and it's held up for me so far, including hitting 2 other vehs. (Surprising not my fault lol)

Yea I imagine the bumpers can't be this bad. It's just the amount that these plastic pieces were off scale was ridiculous.

I have those same fenders. They were a little hard to line up but the quality is good. Never had a bad rugged ridge product.

It is cheaper for steel buyers to buy steel imported from China than it is to buy steel made in the US of A. In January, Chinese steel was $159 a ton cheaper than US steel. Sad, but unfortunately, true.

You may still end up with Chinese steel, just fabricated in America.

Where I work we call Chinese steel "chinulium"(chi-new-lee-um). We get parts from all over but many prototype parts are suspect from some Chinese vendors. There is quality stuff and just plain junk like the patio furniture at all the big box lumber stores. Even the aluminum parts we can tell are not up to par because of their hardness (or lack there of) quality
