Default Running 37s!!!! Question

Hey all, I will be moving up 37s soon and I need some help figuring out what to do, as far as drive line stuff, I already have the lift and plenty of room to fit 37s.

I am wondering about the axels I have a rubi so 44 front and rear. I already know I have to regear going to do a 4.88. I know I have to do c guessets.

What els should I upgrade, shafts? Sleeves? Truss? Drive shafts? Transfer case? What should I do to the rear axel? Ball joints? And what point will I be safe with 37s and everything els will be over kill

I would really consider 5:13's or 5:38's with a 3.8 motor and 37's. Doing the sleeves/gussets is a good thing also. You will not need to do anything to your t-case.

He has a 6-spd

Housing upgrades depends on your usage and skill with a welder / budget to have it done. Gussets are a great start. Lots of talk lately about trusses being better than sleeves, so you might look into that also. Assuming you are paying labor, my suggestion would be to talk to a few shops and see what they will be charging for the install of each and go from there.

When i moved up to 37's i put new front and rear driveshaft, sleeves, gussets, heavy duty ball joints, swapped stock locker for arbs, axle shafts front and rear. Only issue ive had since then was been flanges on my rear axle shafts. Just swapped those out for new ones

Truss, gussets and HD ball joints are pretty much a must in my opinion. I would also look into replacing the stock tie rod and drag link, but you can hold off depending on your wheeling style and the current condition of the components. Your driveshafts are more dependent on your lift height than they are on your tire size at this time. Anything about 3" of lift, you should replace drive shafts regardless.

Just wheel smart and be easy on the skinny pedal and those 44 shafts should do just fine.

I already have the high steer package, and front tie rod. So to sum up. Sleeves are a most, c guessets and ball joints.

What should I do about the rear? Can I sleeve the rear? Or do they make a truss?

You can truss the rear if you want, but it's not really necessary. Most of the load is going to be on the front axle, so trussing & gusseting it should be fine. If you want to switch to heavier duty axle shafts, then it's probably a good idea, but other than that, there's not really anything you need for the rear axle.

So yeah....truss & gusset the front, heavy duty ball joints (polys work fine), and maybe heavier duty axle shafts/RCV's. At the very least up front...gusset the c's. Absolute must!
