I run mine at 28 and feel like they could be a bit lower to really get all the tread on the pavement. I'm thinking 26 would be best for tread wear on my light 2 door.

That's sounds a little low for on the street. It might be the reason they are wearing faster.

Are the edges more worn than the center?

I have 37x12.5x17 MTRs and I run them at 35 on the street. Even wear pattern, edge to edge and also I rotate every 3k miles.

You might even see a slight improvement in gas mileage.

I have MTR as well. LT285/70R17 or 33/11.5. They are smaller than yours but I run 32 PSI. Felt the ride was the best at this PSI. I have 18K miles on them, mostly on road. I would say they have a good 5K more miles till they are shot.

I'm running mine around 29-30 if I'm not mistaken. Only had them for about 1k miles or so, seem to be doing pretty well though

26psi on a light 2-door. They have about 40% tread left after 20,000 miles, but they are starting to get hard and not work very well off-road.
