Am looking for running boards that look tough add protection and have easy steps for my wife. I like these but haven't been able to find them. Anyone know who makes these? Any good/ bad reviews? Suggestions for different types?

My friend has those are they are dog poo cheap. They won't offer any protection, they bend when stand on them. You need some real sliders like OF-Fab. Those are cute mall ninja steps. They also provide less rock clearance at the same time.

Check out the ACE Jk rock sliders. They can function as a step and protection.

I have a 4 door Rubicon and need to get my hands on some steps also. Will any of the above fit onto the standard rock rails or can anyone here suggest a good alternative. They need to be functional as steps (ie don't bend, etc) but don't have to be removable.

Ideas?

Those are the NFab steps. Nice design, but get caught up on trails. So if you plan to do any moderate wheeling, would look again.

I have Poison Spyder brawler rockers and they work well, but are a bit pricey. I nedded the added protection so went with them. Put some skid tape on them and they are great steps.

The ACE sliders work pretty well, but I prefer the Lod sliders as they have a functional step built in. Actually a lot of options. the steps that come on jeeps offer no protection and will fold up on a good hit and damage the body.

Also I keep a fold up step in the back seat to help my lady friends out.
