Talking Rusty's 2" lift installed today...

I decided to take a day off to get my lift installed today and am really glad I did! I installed their 2" spring kit and it got me 2 1/2 in the front and 3 3/16 in the back, which is pretty much 2 1/2 with very little rake.

Ride is good - a little stiffer than factory, but I could just be paying more attention. The look with the factory 17" goodyears isn't too goofy, but I'm going to have to start saving for shoes soon... I didn't have to recenter the steering wheel and it may be about 5 degrees off, but hasn't tripped the ESP or anything like that yet. I may try to tweak it this weekend.

I took a bunch of pictures and am going to post a mini-writeup tomorrow or Thursday when I have a little more time and get a few miles on the kit for a proper breakin.

Congrats...Cant wait to see the pics. Do you plan on running 33s or 35s? Did your axles shift that much..Is it too obvious that you may want to add adjustable track bars down the line? Thanks...

Congrats man....get them pics up..

You will love the lift, the first 5-700 ,iles it will be pretty stiff but it softens out nicely. I thin k it rides better than stock now. I have over 16k miles on it and love it.

I didn't get around to doing a writeup yet, but here is a before and after shot of the lift. I put about 60 miles on it today and other than having the ESP come on early this morning, it was well behaved. I was even trying to get it to come on later this afternoon and no go, so I'm wondering if the sensors are more sensitive with morning dew on the rotors or something like that...

Before

After

I actually did a bit of an experiment with my wife and didn't tell her about it. The first time she got in she said something about being parked on a hill, and the second time she asked if I put new tires on it. I finally let her know that they were taller springs. Don't tell her the tires will come later this fall!

A little stiffer than stock, but not too bad. I wouldn't want it to be too squishy or it would corner like a dog.

Looks great! Got to love the red. I think it looks good with the stock wheels.

How do you like the seat covers? What brand? Picks?

Thanks for the complements. I kind of like the stock wheels as well, but I do see some more aggressive tires and spacers in my future.

The seat covers are the cheap smittybilt ones I got from 4ws.com. From what I can tell, they are the same as the seat glovers/coverking. I'm really not all that impressed with the quality because they are separating a lot at the seams. They will be replaced with wet okoles next time...

Looks Good! Once the springs are broken in and settle, the ride will loosen up a little. It's a great lift kit, I've had mine for a year and still no problems. Just do the steering adjustment and the ESP will stop. There is a write up on Project-JK for the adjustment. Simple, two bolts. I didn't get any axle shift that I noticed and I have 35's with mine.
