Default Rusty's 3 1/4" Lift Kit

My local dealership recently hired away a guy who had owned his own off-road Jeep shop specifically to outfit the dealership maintenance department with it's own "off-road" (or at least after-market parts) specialty shop. He says they're a Quadratec vendor and can get me anything I want. I saw 2 JK unlimiteds that dealership had done and both had Rusty's 3 1/4" lift kit with 35" Dunlop Muds on 17" wheels. He says he's stocking Rusty's because he's had good experience with it, and it's an excellent kit with good performance for the price. What do you think? Most of what I've read about Rusty's stuff says it absolutely sucks, with customer service being a big problem, but parts are lousy. This was as recently as Oct '08, but in reference mostly to XJ parts. He offers a good deal on installation in my '07 Sahara vs the AEV Nth degree 3 1/2" kit I was looking at. Any opinions? What's your experience?

Oh, the jeeps had 35's without being re-geared. They had the 3.73' s with the tow package. I drove one. It was a bit of a pig, with 6th gear about useless unless you were at speed on the highway, but it was FAR from undriveable!! Just an aside!!

its a great kit. The springs are great quality and they jsut changed manufactures of there shocks. its the same comapny that makes Ranchos and monroes. As for the track bars they are beefy but you might want to order the springs and shocks from rustys and get the JKS adj trac bars. The ONLY thing ive ever heard bad about rustys was about there trac bars. And for some reason inthere kit the leave out the sway bar links which are a must.

I just finished installing my 3.25" springs this weekend. I love it!

Been driving around town and they do great on the road, even took it up to Vail cruising at 80+ mph w/o any issues.

Unfortunately there is too much snow here for me to test them off road yet. Although I haven't heard anything bad about them on the trails.

i have the 3.25 rusty's lift i have almost 30,000mi on mine and it rides great flexes nice. now i will say the rear track bars threads did pull out after a hard day wheeling. But in there defense i was having a problem with the esp being over active was cutting in constantly. I think that addedto the problem. But all in all it's a great lift.

I have the rusty's lift and wheel it hard. I have only had one issue with a seal going bad on one shock.

I have the Rusty's 2" coils. I had them on my 2 door since June 07 and then I took them off and put them on my 4 door last week. The kit has been holding up great, rides smooth, no problems whatsoever after being wheeled and driven on the highway.

I love my Rusty's kit. I also recommend adding the lower front control arms and the rear upper control arms as well.

so if i already have a 3" installed....could i just switch out the 3" coils for the rusty's 3.25's and keep same shocks that came w/ my current kit along w/ everything else such as rear track bar relocation? or would i have to switch out shocks again?
