Rustys Help
I installed the rough country 4" and love the look. I hate the cam bolts and the steering track bar bracket, it has already come loose twice even tightened farther than specs call for. I now have the track bar from rusty's and the front lower control arms. The problem is I have no instructions. I know the control arms should be 23" to center but do I use stock hardware and if I don't have stack hardware what kind of bolts do I need grade? washer? lock washer? How many ft/pounds? On the steering arm what is the process of centering the front end? someone please help! D
I called Rustys once with questions on a KJ lift and they were more than willing to help. They have a tech support number on their website.
Otherwise, I'll second the recommendation on Grade 8 hardware, and you can take the stock stuff into the store with you to make sure you get the same size.
Or... you can find another vendor who has instructions online. For instance, the superlift kit uses 9/16” x 3” bolts with flat washers and stover nuts for the track bar, and reuses the stock bolts for the lower control arms.
