Default ?'s concerning adj track bar

I have the jks adj track bar that centered my front axle perfectly. I only have a 2.5 tf bb and there is still a lot of slop in the wheel with a good amount of bump steer. I saw someone here running a drop down bracket and an adjustable track bar. I thought the purpose of having an adj was so u don't need the bracket? If I install one would this help? On another note my castor is at +4.5.. do I need more to settle some of the previous mentioned issues??

Edit: my alignment is right on the money! Toe'd in an 1/8 etc..

You do not need a TB drop bracket with a 2.5" BB kit. Maybe a adj. tb, but that will only recenter the axle.

What do you mean by slop in the wheel? Steering wheel is off-center? There is play in the steering? The steering is very flighty?

castor is at +4.5
Start with re-centering the steering wheel. Then re-check your toe-in. But my guess is that it is flighty from the caster being off after the lift, and you'll want a set of front adj control arms. Most are setting caster between +5 and +7 or thereabouts to get rid of the flightyness.

Here is the DIY Alignment write-up: (which will also help with setting your caster with new CA's)

If your steering is flighty sounds like your control arm bushings are binding with the control arm bolts. Loosen all the CA bolts , enough so that you can spin them. I've even seen some wipe anti seize on them. Rock the JK side to side, retorque all the bolts with the JK on the ground.

What psi are you running in the 315/17s, bringing down the psi made big difference in steering feel for me.

A bracket without also dropping the pitman may in fact make the bump steer worse if it creates a greater difference in the track bar angle vs. drag link angle.

What's the benefit of a dropped pitman arm? Is it even worth it on a 2.5 lift?

I'm running 32psi in the tires btw.

Not needed on a 2.5" kit.
