Safari top 2DR JK ?
Has anyone created a solution for the "Bestop Safari Top" flapping in the wind. I thought of attaching a rod between the rear roll bars, so the canvas can be fastened with velcro loops.
Any ideas,
Any ideas,
For my normal bikini I cut out some black heavy duty outdoor carpet into the shape of the soundbar. I just have it sitting on top and I strap down the bikini around it. It will still flap when the windows are open, but it is muffled.
No. Here's the rear on my four door. I don't know why it doesn't flap, but there have been tons of complaints about the Bestop flapping, while Mopar owners don't complain. Most folks go for the Bestop because it is significantly cheaper. And maybe that's all the answer that we need.

There's another current thread showing pictures of a two door with a Windjammer--it better covers the back. There is also a two door Wraparound Windjammer that almost completely seals up the back. These Bestop products, along with the Duster, are completely compatible with the Mopar Sunbonnet (even identical fabric). The Sunbonnet, BTW, is made by Bestop, and includes the header bar built into the item (so consider that if comparing prices).

Hmmm...what is the point of that rear window with all the gaps around it if I may ask? Does it just stop some of the wind buffeting? Oh I just saw the yellow text on the picture (hard to read) I guess it's called a "windjammer" for a reason...;o)
Thank you for the detailed response, the photo answered my question. Our two doors don't have that cross bar over the rear seat. This is where the top sags, and flaps like a cape, needing constant attention at highway speeds. I just received the "4WD" catalog... pictured on the rear cover is the "XRC" roll cage kit. If I could just purchase the rear cross bar, I could then have straps sewn in like your 4 door, and attach, securing the top tight across the frame.

the rear-most straps, instead of just fastening them to the roll bar, i wrap them on outside of roll bar and around rear seatbelt anchor. keeps it tight, flaping goes away even at highway speeds

Just saw this Rock Hard crossmember in 4wd Hardware, may be a better option. Sorry for late response Teamdher. FlyinSquirrel, Before I read your response, I have found that wrapping the straps, first over the bar, and reverse figure eight around and under the seat belt has stopped the flapping somewhat, however it won't be long until the plastic strap buckles break apart. Sorry again for revisiting this thread so late.
