Safety and an ebay unknown

To the OP, there is no way in hell I would trust my JK, my life, my family's lives, and the lives of other people on the road to some dime store knockoff no-name wheel spacers. Spacers are not created equal so make certain you know what you are buying.

yeah scary dude. here's some info from the sticky in here:
Q: Are wheel spacers safe to use or do they cause extra stress on your axle or wheel bearings?
A: High quality wheelspacers, the kind that bolt up to your axle first are no more dangerous or cause any more stress to your axles then would a wheel with less backspacing. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about and I have yet to hear a single good or specific explanation as to exactly how they are worse. Just to be clear, the cheap-o spacers (the kind that you can get at PepBoys and are sandwiched between your wheel and axle using the existing wheel studs) are in fact EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. These cheap-o spacers leave little thread for your lug nuts to hold onto and can fail. DO NOT USE THESE!

You are thinking BB lift pucks. Not wheel spacers.

Based on that member's analysis, I'd spend the money on Spidertrax and sleep soundly at night.

I have a set of eBay spacers and the problem isn't within the chunk of metal, it's the lug studs. They aren't real "grade 8" hardware. How do you know (you ask quietly to yourself)?? When was the last time you sheared a factory lug stud off with just a 3/8" ratchet. No extension, no breaker bar, no impact- just a 3/8" ratchet. Then go ahead 1 step further and ask how many lug studs did this kid manage to shear OFF with the ebay spacer? The answer is easy- enough to count on one hand
My spidertrax on the other hand.....I use a snap-on 1/2" impact gun and I haven't sheared a stud off yet, even after multiple tire rotations.
And I don't use threadlocker on my spacers either, I use anti-seize. But you can start a whole other thread on that and people will go at it for days on end just beating that dead horse into the ground.

I have these spacers and although I havent had them very long, I haven't had any problems out of them yet. I would have liked to have gone with teraflex or spidertrax but don't have the money. :/
