salvage title
I have a 2003 ford taurus Great car, salvage title fully insured no problem at all. now as for any recalls or safety issues that might arise in the future for from Chrysler, forget it those you are just stuck with. you will not be able to take advantage of them. Not to mention your resale value is about half of what a comparable rig would be simply because it says salvaged on the title.

You should have no problem insuring it; I think the primary drawback to a salvage title is the resale value, if he ever decides to get rid of it.
People don't like seeing a minor accident on a carfax report - it makes them hesitate - so a salvage is like a red flag to some people. (But to others its a big time money saver, if you don't mind the designation and are sure its sound)

Resale isn't as important are how well it was glued back together. I've had the displeasure of dealing with a few of these and they all vibrated on the highway, had a ton of road noise, and generally just didn't 'feel' right. If you have to buy a car you cannot afford new, you might want to look into a lemon law car instead. Those are generally structurally sound, and might've just had an overly sensitive previous owner.
