That's odd, since you mentioned gearing several times and specifically asked which you should go with.

Compared to proper gearing, the headers and tuner will have minimal affect.

Funny... I was at the Jeep service shop and some guy couldn't fathom why he gets 14-MPG and his wife 18-MPG traveling to and from the same destinations. I didn't want to insult him and tell him it's because he's a mammoth 300-plus pounds and his wife 120-lb.

Not many people think about it... but a good way to save on gas is to personally lose weight!

Noted. Thanks for the heads up regarding gearing vs headers and tuning. That helps me better to decide on what upgrade to do next

Only jeep owners ride in style

Best options for better fuel economy

Dump Weight - bumpers, winch, heavy/big ass tires, drive doorless and topless. & drive slower if that is possible.

This ain't gonna happen with me except doorless and topless on sunny days to make other vehicle owners Wish they owned a Jeep!

I wonder though, and I'm doorless and topless from March till November, not that any Jeep is a model of aerodynamic efficiency, but would there by any advantage in wind resistance to having the top up and doors on? But would it offset the weight savings, if it even existed? Might have to call Mythbusters on this one, or maybe it's been done, though I know not with a Jeep.

I get worse fuel milage when I use cruise control. Also, the Jeep get better mileage running 80mph then 70mph, and i dont have to downshift when I hit hills.

Somehow my Jk cause me to back off. I'm just a mellower driver on the street.

Also gives a better chance to see the returned and it cheaper not getting tickets

OP, it seems from most posts you read that 'lifted' and 'fuel efficient' are mutually exlcusive. Generally, I believe those who want lift and bigger tires know they usually have to sacrifice mpg and that's ok with them. It's a matter of which you want more. I think you will also find that gearing, while it will give you the performance needed to feel like stock and keep you up to speed on the highway, will not overcome the drag created by a taller, wider (tires) vehicle, therefore the mpgs of a stock vehicle will most likely never be attained by a lifted one. As you say, you can do some things to optimize your mileage, but not to the point of OEM.
