Default Scared to drive the jeep

Are there upgradable lug nuts.....I have had two of my tires fall of while driving and now am scared shitless to drive the jeep on the highway...

Before you start flaming......Yes i torque the the lug nuts when the jeep is on the ground. Yes I know what im doing. Yes im not a complete retard!!!!!

I really have been lucky and feel my luck is running out. So with that said is there any special lug nuts to buy or are there specific wheel and lug nut combos??

I have all american racing off road series wheels with 35" km2

I never torque with the weight on the wheels. You will have a better chance of seating the wheel right if the weight is off of it. Look at bevel on the lug nuts and the bevel in the wheels. Are the beveled area scarred up real bad on either? Remember, it's not the tension on the threads that holds the wheels tight. It's the friction between the bevels on the wheel and nut.

Are you using the correct lug nuts? They come in different degrees of cone?

Are lug nuts deep enough for the stud length ? I've seen them bottom out before the wheel is tight enough.

If they're alloy wheels and you're using your old steel wheel lug nuts-wrong

If your using alloy wheels and the drum retainer washers are still on-wrong

If you've got a chinese torque wrench and you're not using the star tightening pattern--wrong

If the racing wheels came with fitted lug nuts and don't have the cone access holes, then of course you should be using the recommended lug nuts

if you put anti-seize/oil on the lug studs--wrong

Good luck

What lug nuts are you currently using?

Are all the lug nuts falling off or are you breaking studs?

Same wheel fall off both times or different wheel?

Thanks all and Im using the recommended lug nuts from the tire shop that i bought my wheels and tires from.

Im not sure if the cone is right and yes the wheels are alloy but Im not sure if the lug nuts are steel. Might have to look at that.

Other than that i mean everything seems normal. I checked the lug nuts this morning after going on the highway to work and all seemed fine and tight as hell so IDK!!!!!!!!!

Oh and no studs are breaking the tires are falling off because the lug nuts will back themselves off while im driving..

For a quick check Warlock, take ONE lug nut off and look at the wheel HOLE for the stud

Is it a STRAIGHT unbeveled hole or does it have a coned entry circumference

If it doesn't have the CONE entry and they gave you CONE lug nuts--there's the problem

And don't forget to retighten after the initial 40 to 50 miles after install. I've seen wheels (when new) come close to falling off in as little as 40 miles.
