Default screwing in the tub

now that I have your attention:

I want to attach some footman loops to the inside top edge of the tub.
(extra support for an MCN raingler cargo net)

I have some #8X 3/8 zinc metal screws. The footman loops are chrome.

Anyone foresee any mixed metal combination problems with that set up?

I should probably use a bolt washer nut combo. The footman loops could probably hold a #12 screw.

any and all comments / suggestions welcome!

Well, I am wholeheartedly disappointed after clicking on this thread.

That being said, I wouldn't think you'd have a problem with those two metals in contact with one another. They do plate zinc with chrome in certain industrial applications, so I don't think you'd have any promotion of corrosion with those, if that's what's worrying you. Again though, that's just my guess. I don't know for sure.

Thanks, Jason, sorry for the disappointment but I couldn't resist!

Just wondering how other posters are mounting brackets in the tub.

Nope. No problems. Problems with dissimilar metals usually come about on boats where you have electricity and metals and water together for sustained amounts of time. I have never seen your Jeep and I have no idea where you off road but it is borderline impossible to create a situation that would cause you problems.

Rust would cause problems before the metals could break down.
