Default Secure storage for 2 door with no backseat

I have a 2014 JK 2 door. I don't run with a back seat and I am looking for ways to secure stuff in the back.

I looked at some of the Tuffy products, but they seem to be easily circumvented. I have power door locks, so all a potential thief would have to do is unzip a window and click the unlock button and it opens the tailgate.

What do others do to secure surf in the back?

The power door lock switches are disabled after locking the doors with the key FOB. Tuffy stuff would be totally pointless if one could simply reach in and unlock the tailgate.

Any metal or hd plastic box would hold stuff and be secure tractor supply co. has trunks too .

In my 2012 Wrangler Rubicon with the tops off I was always worrying about leaving items in the back while on excursions so this is what I came up with.

The Rubbermaid 48 gallon action packer cargo box is reasonable price $78 (Walmart), high capacity, weather proof, light weight, durable, secure, color matching and fits perfectly in the place of the rear seat it leaves room behind front seats for reclining and additional space and allows access to the factory rear under-floor compartment and jack access.

I drilled holes in the bottom and using U-bolts attached the container to the metal rear hold down loops for the rear seat, looped the U-bolts thru the seat hold downs up thru the drilled holes in the bottom of the container and secured with metal plate, bolts and rubber caps over the exposed threads to protect items placed in storage container.

Boy, do I feel dumb. I had to go test this and you are right. For some reason, I could have sworn I was able to do this before.

Recovery gear and trail gear that I rarely remove from the Jeep: Recovery straps, shackles, compressor, rain gear, etc.

Thanks for posting this up. This gives me an idea on how I can use some spare Pelican cases I have sitting in the garage.
