Default Secure storage

I've been looking at options for secure storage in the back of my 2dr jk and the ones that interest my the most are Add a Trunk, Instatrunk and Flexatrunk. Is anybody useing any of these and if so do they get in the way of lowering the soft top? Or if I would want to put the back seats down would they be useless. Any input on these or diff ideas please let me know.

I had fabricated one in my old CJ-7 years ago, am thinking of doing the same for the JK. I hope to have it done soon (in the next week or so). I'll take pictures and post it.

Rock On!

I'd love to see any pics, homemade or store bought. Tuffy seems a little pricey as does the Flexatrunk when I think about it. I would hate to have to keep the back seats up in order to have a backing to these, but that wouldn't make much sense if anybody could just lower the seats and get into them.

I got the Tuffy cage for my locking storage solution. I can put lots of things inside, as well as locking my skis inside and keeping them dry and safe. Check it out.

Default Rear Tailgate Lock for Secure Storage

I am wondering how the rear tailgate lock will work with the top off a JK. If the tailgate acts as the "back door" of the the secure compartment it can be opened easily by reaching in and unlocking the power door locks?? Is there a way to lock the tailgate so it will only open with the key??
Am I missing something??

On mine, if I lock the doors with the key, after about 10 minutes, even if I try to unlock from the door it won't work. Only the electronic key will do the trick.

Also, when the doors are off the jeep, the only way to unlock the tailgate is with the key

Thanks for the info on locking the tailgate. I had wondered about that too. I assumed someone could break in and throw the unlock.

I have a 4 door, but it may give you some ideas. It is made out of plywood and covered in a liner.
