Selecting a Rear Locker
I am looking at adding a rear locker to my '14 sport. Gearing will be 4.10. I would prefer an electronic locker(eaton elocker?) activated by switch but am also keeping my options open for an air locker.
I am pretty set on just a locker that when not locked, acts as a open differential.
Also heard some issues with electronic lockers in '12+ wranglers but may just be limited to automatic transmission. I have the manual 6 speed.
Any knowledge, advice, experience and options on selecting the locker would be a big help. Thanks.

ARB is the one all of the other companies are still trying to beat. The yukon Zip is apparently based off of an older arb design, costs a bit less, and has a pretty nice warranty which includes collateral damage, and can be extended to lifetime of the original owner. With the OX, you have a choice of cable, air or electric actuation, and they come with a new diff cover. Eatons new 4-pin d44 e-locker is still new enough that there hasn't been a lot of feedback, but - there is an ongoing thread on another forum about a problem with the bolts coming out due to not being lok-tite'd in from the factory. So if you go with that one, be sure to double check those bolts before install.
I have run detroit truetracs and detroit lockers in the past, and am currently running an arb front and a yukon zip rear. For my actual usage/needs, the truetrac is still my favorite. No problems with either air locker, but if I were in the market for another selectable now, I would be looking at the eaton just to not have the extra worry of air lines/seals.

I'm running Eaton E-lockers in my Dynatrac Pro Rock 60s, and I really like them. No air pump to worry about, or listen to. If you need the differential locked, just flip the switch, and you're locked.
I had some serious problems with the ESC system on my Jeep, but it wasn't the E-lockers. I had two bad sensors that Jeep replaced under warranty, and have had no ESC problems since.

Great info everyone. Thanks. I really like the idea of the eaton elocker. I am really interested in finding our more info on the new design but I guess only time will tell with that.
I have a auto locker in the rear. I would definately go with selectable in the rear if you have the funding. My auto locker has its own mind and will lock unlock and random times. The 4 pin Eaton locker for the front D30 has been around for awhile. Nothing but positive feedback with that solution. If the new 4 pin eaton locker for the D44 is the same basic design, that would be a good bet.
