Default Sheared off valve stems - better solution?

I wheeled the Rubicon Trail last week and sheared off two valve stems. I have AEV Savagre wheels which do have a recessed valve stem hole, but that wasn't enough to prevent damage. Someone mentioned to get shorter valve stems, or rubber ones to prevent this from happening again. Since my Jeep has TPMS sensors, can you run rubber valve stems? Do they sell shorter valve stems that are compatible with the TPMS sensors?

What's the best solution for rock crawling?

Get really short stems, buy a programmer and delete the tpms.

The stock 2008 aluminum valve stemmed TPMS sensors can be replaced with new rubber stemmed TPMS sensors if you want to keep the system intact. I did this because corrosion rendered the originals unusable when the new tires were installed. Additionally, it was unlikely the batteries in the sensors would last through the life of the second set of tires.
As mentioned above, normal rubber stems with system deactivation is an option, too.

So I did some searching and found that Napa has a rubber valve stem TPMS. Part number ECH 921074. Is that what I need? It appears they also sell just the rubber stem (part no ECH 920445), but not sure those will work with my existing TPMS bases (which are new within the last year).

The description of TPMS sensor ECH 921074 says the stem material is aluminum.

Here is what I put into my 2008. (Your profile says you have a 2008.)
They are rubber stemmed, and are available on Amazon, if you have time to order rather than find them locally.
