Default Shift boot

I hate the look of the shifter in my automatic. The ugly P-R-N-D-1-2 on the console, and the ugly knob. This will sound weird, but has anybody tried taking the rubber shift boot from a manual and fitting it into an automatic? Will it fit over the lever? From pictures it looks like the same bezel (which would make sense), but I can't tell for sure without seeing them side-by-side.

Anyway, I thought it might look cool (and even cooler with a different shift knob to go with it), but I don't want to spend the 50 bucks for the boot only to find out it won't fit. Anybody tried this? Anybody with a manual wanna take some measurements for me? Measurements I need are:

- L x W of the bezel
- height of the boot
- diameter of the hole in the boot (where the shift lever goes through)

Thanks.

2 things...

first...if your dealer wants 50 bucks he's ripping you off. I paid 28 for a new one.

second...I still have my old one and you are welcome to it if you want...3 of the little rivet type things broke on it so I replaced the whole thing. You could easily drill the plastic and put small screws through it if you wanted.....I am just to damn lazy....
