Default Shipping tires...

Hey guys, I found a great deal on a set of new tires and the drive to pick them up is about 10 hours. Do any of you know the most innexpensive way to have them shipped?

The last time I had tires shipped was through Tirerack.com and it was about $150 and that was simply putting a sticker on each individual tire and shipping them out one by one. But I cant seem to find that kind of pricing for having it shipped from residential to residential.

Any ideas? They are 35x12.50/17's. If I can get them shipped for less than $200, I'd be one happy man.

UPS freight may be your best option depending on where you live. I've received/sent 100-200lb items from Oregon to Colorado for less than $200.

I think FedEx also has a freight service.

If you know someone who has a business that uses freight to ship on a regular basis (probably your local 4x4 shop) you may be able to talk them into shipping it for you. Businesses who use freight often get a steep discount on shipping.

Default greyhound bus

I know that it may sound silly, but we used to ship bulk T-shirts on Greyhound. Give them a call, it was pretty cheap.

Any time I have priced shipping tires to someone, it was always cheaper by UPS. Greyhound was about the most expensive.

What if you line up members, from different areas, to each drive the tires a few hours you might be able to get away with the shipping for some beer.

Default Thanks for the response

Thanks guys. I did a little digging and beleive it or not, USPS is the way to go. You can ship each individual tire for around $35 each. $165 to $170 for all 5 tires. Who would have thought?

Good thoughts from everyone though, I really appreciate the feedback.

Stay Hard!
