Default Shock bolts

This is really stupid. I pulled the shocks last week and a few days later I installed the new shocks but couldn't remember which way the bolts go. I installed the bolts from the tires inward. Don't no if it really matters cause I searched around looking at pictures and half the ones I see are different. Some in some out. So does it matter?

+2 on the pointy ends away from tires another reason is leading edges tend to get impact damage and better to bugger up the head of a bolt than the threads

So from what I gather the front ones should be towards the inside and the opposite in the rear to protect the threads

I just added a 2 1/2 in lift and all threaded tips are away from moving parts. Plus it looks cleaner.
